Privacy policy

Last updated 1 November 2026

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you ask us for a quote, why we need it, who we share it with and how long we keep it. It also explains your rights.

1. Who we are

Max Scaffolding is a scaffolding business based in Cheltenham. We are the controller of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it is used.

You can contact us about anything in this policy by phone on 07495 870531 or by email at info@max-scaffolding.co.uk.

2. What we collect

  • Your name, phone number, email address and site postcode, and anything you add in your message, when you use our quote form.
  • The page you sent the form from, including any advert link that brought you to it.
  • Anything you send us by phone, text, email or WhatsApp, including photos of the job.
  • Short-term technical logs kept by our website host, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry, quote for the work and carry it out: taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing the contract.
  • To keep accounts and tax records: legal obligation.
  • To keep the website secure and see how it is working: our legitimate interests in running a safe, effective business.
  • To use optional cookies: your consent, which you can change at any time.

We don’t sell your details, and we don’t make decisions about you using automated processing alone.

4. Who we share it with

  • Companies that provide services to us, such as our website host (Vercel), Corem8 (the system we use to receive and manage quote requests, which also emails us each new request), and Microsoft (our email). They may only use your information to provide those services.
  • Google, and companies that help us run our adverts, for website statistics and measuring our adverts, as described in the cookies section.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to message us there. Their own privacy policy applies to how they handle your messages.
  • Anyone we are legally required to share information with.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. When they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the contract clauses approved by the Information Commissioner to keep it protected.

5. How long we keep it

  • Quote requests that don’t go ahead: only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, then deleted.
  • Records of work we carry out, including accounts and tax records: as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually six years.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, where we don’t need to keep it by law;
  • ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
  • ask us to transfer information you gave us to another organisation.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 1. We’ll reply within one month. It’s free unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

7. Cookies and visit tracking

When you first visit, we ask whether you’re happy for us to use optional cookies. You can change your answer at any time.

  • Strictly necessary. Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser (max_consent_v1).
  • Analytics and marketing (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads). These only store cookies on your device if you accept them. If you don’t, Google’s tags still send limited signals with no cookies and with advert click details removed, so we can count visits and enquiries in total without identifying you.
  • Our quote system, Corem8, notes how you arrived (the page you landed on, the site that sent you and any advert link you clicked) once per visit, without storing anything on your device and without recording your IP address. If you accept marketing cookies, it also keeps an anonymous visitor number so it can recognise a return visit.

8. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
